Little Legends: a free kingdom building game for kids

Little Legends is a cozy world-building game for ages 6 and up. You start with three villagers, a campfire and a patch of fog, and you grow a tiny camp into a farming village and then a kingdom with a castle you design yourself.

It plays a little like the strategy games grown-ups love, but it is much gentler. There is no fighting to worry about. Villagers look after themselves once you point them at a job, new discoveries unlock new things to build, and the numbers along the way (how much wood is left, how many flowers each garden gets) are part of the fun.

How to play

Make your explorer: pick a name, hair, skin tone and outfit.
Tap a villager, then tap a tree, a rock or a berry bush. They will gather it and carry it back to camp on their own.
Open Build to place huts, storage, farms and more. Watch your builders raise each one from foundation to roof.
Open Discoveries to find Fire, Agriculture, Animal Friends, Writing and Architecture. Each one unlocks something new, and moves you toward the next age.
Explore the fog, build a bridge over the river, befriend a wild horse and find hidden treasure.
In the Castle Age, build your castle and design its towers, roofs, flags, banners, gate and gardens.
Every page you earn is saved in your Wonder Book. The game saves by itself.

Questions parents ask

Is Little Legends free?

Yes. It is free, with no ads, no sign-up and nothing to download.

What age is it for?

It is made for ages 6 to 12. Younger children can play along with a grown-up, and older children enjoy designing the castle and filling the Wonder Book.

Is there any fighting?

No. Little Legends is about building, exploring and discovering. There are no battles.

Does it save my progress?

Yes. Your village saves automatically in your own browser, so nobody has to remember to save. It stays on that device. Clearing your browser data erases it.

Does it work on a tablet or phone?

Yes. Drag to look around, pinch to zoom and tap to build. It also works with a mouse on a computer.

Is it a math game?

It is a building game first. Math shows up naturally, for example when the castle needs 100 stone and you have 65, or when a villager asks for help sharing flowers. Those are never forced, and you can skip them.

How long is the first version?

This first version covers the Stone Age, the Farming Age and the Castle Age. Later ages (exploration, industry, the modern age and space) are planned.
