Cosmic Math: a free space math game for kids
Play Cosmic Math free Ages 4 to 13.
Cosmic Math turns mental math into a rocket trip. A sum appears at the top of the screen, four answers drift down, and you fly your ship under the right one and zap it. Get five right and you travel on from the clouds to the Moon, then Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune.
There are four levels, so the same game works for a four-year-old counting stars and an eleven-year-old working out two-step sums. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with no download, no ads and no account.
How to play
- Pick a level on the title screen. Counting stars uses pictures to add up to 10; Little rockets covers adding and taking away to 20; Sky riders adds times tables and sharing out; Mission control has two-step sums and squares.
- Read the question at the top, then find the matching answer among the four falling planets.
- On a keyboard, fly with the arrow keys or A and D, and press Space, the up arrow or Enter to zap the answer you are lined up with. On a touchscreen, tap an answer to fly over and zap it, or drag to steer.
- Every five right answers take you on to the next world. Chain correct answers in a row for a score multiplier of up to four times.
- You have three lives. A wrong zap, or letting the right answer fall past, costs one, and the game shows you the correct answer so you learn from it.
